UWE Bristol has successfully run a large number of economic development programmes across the South West, including the Digital Innovation Fund and Scale Up 4 Growth programmes detailed below. The University is passionate about supporting local economies and has awarded over £7m of grants to the region’s businesses, generating £15m of local investment and creating and safeguarding over 1000 jobs.

Scale Up 4 Growth West of England
During 2019-2020, Scale Up 4 Growth in the West of England enabled businesses to develop potential, create opportunities, achieve scale-up readiness and unblock barriers to growth through grants and relevant, high quality support and training
Scale Up 4 Growth Gloucestershire
Scale Up 4 Growth are now offering grants of between £10,000 and £40,000 to SMEs in the Gloucestershire LEP region plus relevant, high quality support and training. Grant application deadline: Midday, Wednesday 5 May 2021.
Digital Innovation Fund
The Digital Innovation Fund is helping support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the West of England that are seeking to innovate and solve new challenges created by the pandemic and will create new employment opportunities.
